The Virginity Hit
The Virginity Hit refers to the ingesting of marijuana from a gaudy bong set aside by four young men from New Orleans only to be used when one of the quartet has finally cast off his virginity. Three go up in smoke fairly early but Matt (Matt Bennett) lags behind and the film quickly boils down to the task of dispatching his cherry. Years before Matt was adopted into a family clearly untouched by the effects of hurricane Katrina and his “brother” Zack (Zack Pearlman) always has a smart ass remark on his lips and a video camera in his hand. It’s not that Matt is untouchable. He’s been dating the beautiful and willing Nicole (Nicole Weaver) for two years but has not yet found the perfect moment. However when Matt breaks up with Nicole, Zack leads an all out assault with the intent being to finally spark up that ugly bong for the fourth and final time. Channelling Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity, Cloverfield and Last Exorcist, The Virginity Hit is so rough that it looks genuine until suddenly we’re viewing video that would be impossible to capture. (not to mention that these guys are being initiated by women way out of their league). Unlike those faux documentaries, here the action is not chilling, it’s wildly embarrassing and usually ends up on You Tube with often very un-“friend”ly and hilarious responses.
